Peb Fort, also known as Vikatgad Fort, is a popular trekking destination located near Neral in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. The fort is known for its scenic beauty, rich history, and unique architecture. The trek to Peb Fort is a moderate one and takes approximately 2-3 hours to reach the top. The trail passes through dense forests and rocky terrains, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The fort is situated at an altitude of 2,600 feet and provides a panoramic view of the Matheran mountain range. The fort has a rich history dating back to the Maratha Empire and was used as a strategic location for military purposes. It has unique architecture and is known for its zigzagging walls and rock-cut water cisterns. The fort also has a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, which attracts many devotees. The best time to visit Peb Fort is during the winter months from November to February when the weather is pleasant.
